Plywood
Plywood is a wooden material made of two or more layers of wood boards glued and pressed together, valid in different sizes and qualities. The most important characteristics of plywood are its resistance to breaking, twisting and shrinkage. Plywood grades depends on the quality of wood they are made from. The type of wood species which are used in plywood are ash, pine, oak and birch. plywood is very strong ,light and resistance to damage due to their compatibility.
There is a different variety of plywood depending on their usage or compatibility like softwood plywood, hardwood plywood, tropical plywood, aircraft plywood, decorative plywood, marine plywood and fire-retardant plywood.
The most common type of plywood is softwood plywood generally used for construction.
Hardwood plywood is more stronger than the softwood ones and are suitable for heavy-duty applications like floors or walls.
Tropical plywood is made from tropical woods mostly from Asia, Africa or south- America. These plywood have extra strength.
Aircraft plywood is the ones made from birch or mahogany or both. Their resistance to humidity and heat is the most popular characteristics of them.
Decorative plywood is used for wall-panels and furniture, as it name suggests.
Marine plywood is the one useful for boats and humid and wet conditions.
Fire-retardant plywood is resistance to fire because of the usage of chemicals during its production.
