Since the quality of the wood facade is largely dependent on the
infrastructure. Therefore, the issue of infrastructure is very important.
First, the types of infrastructure and its different conditions and then
the implementation of the wood facade are discussed.
Infrastructure:
On the flat surfaces there are two solutions:
A) Cement:
On the flat surfaces whose hardness is brick-block or similar materials a smooth layer of cement with a thickness of at least 4-5 cm can create a perfect infrastructure for wood installation.
Therefore, it is absolutely necessary that the created surfaces should be smooth.
B) Metal profile:
The use of 40×40 mm light square metal network with the below mentioned distances , which preferably sugest to 95% of the projects, due to the obtaining of more desirable quality.
Metal substructures are usually installed on the wall in paralel to the main woods, so the distance of the parallel metal axis should be at most 50 centimeters and along the way, support with a distance of about 100 cm should be installed. With these conditions, vertical infrastructure woods(Batten) can be installed.
Important Point (1)
In both conditions, the construction of infrastructure (cement or metal profile) be sure about the availability of space from the outer side of the facade to infrastructure(sum of the thicknesses of batten and main wood) .
Important Point (2)
If the metal can not be welded directly because of the remoteness and inaccessibility to the skeleton of the building, so the infrastructure hands are welded to the plates that are installed to the wall.
Solutions for preparing the infrastructure for installing main wood on the floor:
Usually, to prevent rot of metal infrastructure in direct contact with the Earth in open space, the foundations in different places are coated completely stainless.
General points of wooden infrastructure(Batten) :
In order to improve the quality of the installation as well as the speed of the work, the start of the installation should be done as one of the last construction works, before starting any infrastructure operations make sure that:
1- The underlying surface of the work in both vertical directions top to bottom and left to right alignment, the infrastructure surface should be installed on the underlying surface in a way that can withstand at least 10 kg/m2 in needle sticks (soft wood -Pine) and about 20 kg/m2 for broadleaf wood (hardwood -Ash) to overweight metal chassis.
2- The required thickness of cement as a surface alignment behind the thermo wooden infrastructure is at least 4-5 cm (smoothed and leveled)
3-The screw intervals between batten and substructure must less than 50 cm.
4- The distances from the woodhead to the first screw must be at least 5 cm.
5- Screw between the batten and cement must be galvanized with a plaque roll with a length of at least 6 cm and a wood step screw.
6- Screws for installing wooden infrastructure to iron, must be made of galvanized, navy and fine ribs.
7- Before installing any screws, make sure to drill the desired location. In other words, do not use the screw directly to create holes.
8- In places that come together, such as the edge of the windows, be sure to check that the angle created is 90 degrees ).
Main wood installation points:
1- Before installing the wood facade, make sure that all the infrastructure are aligned.
2- Cut the wood before starting the installation operation according to the maps.
3- Screwing wood directly on metal is not recommended at all. Only in cases where the use of batten disturbs the facade of the building, for example fences in front of the terraces.
4- To install main wood in the facade, be sure to use all galvanized screws .
5- The distances of the screws installed by the wood facade to the wooden infrastructure from the woodhead to the middle of the first screw is at least 5 cm.
6- The distances of the screws of the wood facade installation to batten, middle to middle, about 40-50 cm. This distance is about 35-45 cm in the case of decking wood ( floor).
7- Screws for installing timber façade or decking on wooden infrastructure should be galvanized with a length of at least 4 cm and with wood step, which changes in length compared to the thickness of the thermo wood.
8- In the first step, the wood tries to increase in length and if it fails, it shines in width. It is necessary to make sure wood have the space needed to play . In other words, at the end of the work, at least 1 cm away from the wall. This can be reduced to 3 mm from each side for parking doors that have a shorter wood length.
9-The distances between main woods SHP in the facade are necessarily 2-5 mm.
10- In connection with the lighting on the thermowood wooden facade, the direction of light should be in line with the installed woods and about 40 to 50 cm away from the facade.
